Day 2

We woke up in Lumpkin, GA to the birds chirping and the sun trying to peek through the clouds. According to our weather app, we were good until about 5pm- downpour to come.

I made scrambled eggs and mini bagels for a quick but filling breakfast, packed for a picnic lunch… and we get ready for the day!

It was so neat to see all the cuts of red clay on the way. The girls were so infatuated by the “grass growing on the walls”, which is commonly known as algae lol.

We’ve arrived prepared!

As we approach the trail, we noticed that you hike down to get to the bottom and back up to return. Looking back, I wish we would have seen the arial views before the bottom… it may have put things in perspective. However, this Little Grand Canyon isn’t so little. I can’t even fathom what the actual Grand Canyon looks like!

Here’s a few photos from the bottom:

But here’s the arial view!! ❤️🥰

We were hot and sweaty, and exhausted, when we were done… but totally worth it!

We ended the day with a pasta meal, a round of Life (board game), and marshmallows for dessert. We watched a movie before we called it a night. The rain didn’t ruin any plans (other than delaying showers lol).

Goodnight! Tomorrow we head to Pigeon Forge, TN.
