Divine Intervention- Pt. 1

Today is another status hearing. This hearing is to address the home study of the aunt and the case involving the other brother (who is with another aunt). The family tree is quite fuzzy, because the family members use terms that aren’t true… so I will spare you the headache.

There were probably 10-15 people in the court room this time (the aunt in question wasn’t there). At this point, there are 4 children involved instead of just the girls. As you can imagine, the judge became confused quickly. Each child is associated with a letter to help with distinguishing who is who. So we have children A, B, C, and D… you would think. Nope, the letters are off because there are 3 children who have previously been adopted. I felt like today was a real-life math problem!

Anyhow, we got through the hearing and it was determined that the home study of the aunt (who has requested the girls) be continued and explored. As it is the court’s duties to explore all options of relatives. We did, however, find out that the aunt is not a blood relative to the children. She is the sister to the legal father (who is not the biological father).

Great… I get to wait for another status hearing to see where this goes.
