Fast forward a month and we are hosting the biggest “welcome to the family” party!
As you can imagine, I’ve had support from all my loved ones during my journey as a foster (and now adoptive) parent. The least I could do, is throw a huge celebration about the adoption. I called around town and connected with people I knew.
My brother offered to DJ the event. I rented 2 bounce houses, we had a trackless train, a pink haired horse giving rides, and several games around the property for kids to play. It was fantastic! I didn’t ask for any type of presents I said “your presence is a present to us”. However if people insisted I told them a Disney gift card would be great. I’m planning on taking them in November.
I would estimate 100-150 people attending our event. It was such a blessing and a visual representation of who supported us and continue to support/love us.
It was a great day!
The day following the party we left for TN with Nina/Papa, my brother (and his family), my sister (and her boyfriend), and of course Matt (my boyfriend)… cabin in the mountains sounds fantastic right?!
