Car conversations:

We all talk to our kids (or remind them how to act human in the car) while we commute throughout the day. Do you have any ground rules in the car? Ours are: Be Quiet or Sing (to the radio). Sadly these rules aren’t always followed :/

Tonight Abby decided to ask us (out of the blue): “If a hedgehog is laying down and one is sitting on it… how do they get hurt?” After some investigating, we learned that she was referring to their coils. How could they get hurt if they are both spiky?

Earlier she asked: “daddy how did your car get wet? (It has just rained).

Me: well what happens when it rains?

A: umm the clouds turn gray

Me: yeah, but what takes place when it rains?

A: it gets darker?

Me: (getting a little agitated lol) what is rain made of?

A: snow!

Me: so if rain is made of snow, what would snow be made of?

A: (confused) no? Rain is made of water!

Me: yep! So when it rains what happens to things?

A: they grow! Flowers grow!

Me: what happens when water gets on things?

A: they get wet.

Me: ok, so if rain is made of water and it just rained… why would daddy’s truck be wet?

A: because the rain put water on it!

Me: Bingo!

Wow… that was much longer than anticipated lol
