Our case has finally been assigned to a case management agency. I allowed our case manager to come over the night she requested, I know how it feels to work late so I plan to accommodate her as much as possible.

She introduces herself as Rachel. Poor thing… It’s obvious she’s fresh out of training. Being in the field myself, I reassure her that she can feel comfortable in our home and that I am pro-reunification if it is in the best interest of the kids (which is the same feeling for all professionals). She was very sweet with the girls and entertained all of Abby’s shenanigans during the visit. I received my medication log (to record Chloe’s psychotropic medication) and gave her a list of doctor appointments scheduled so far. Hopefully, mom will attend them too.

Visitations were set for 2 days a week, 3hrs each. Since the visits are during the day they will arrange for one of their transporters to pick them up/drop them back off at daycare. I am most grateful for this option. Rachel also thought this would be best since Chloe is already extremely attached. It would help her bond to her mother if I wasn’t there at all. The time of visitation will be determined by availability at the center since they are supervised at this stage in the case. The possibilities of relatives were discussed. Sadly, the family has all followed similar (if not worse) lifestyles as the parents so they aren’t appropriate for placement. The only relatives that are a slight possibility would be those who have their siblings. Yes, there are 4 additional siblings who have been placed in permanent custody of others. This isn’t mom’s first rodeo. I immediately gave permission to allow sibling visits if that was ever an option.
