Disney World-Day 1

I believe every child should experience Disney World at least once in their lives. Not knowing if the girls would ever have that chance, I decided to take them. This was earlier in our journey (sorry… consider this a flashback lol).

It was December, and Abby’s birthday was coming up. So why not go to Disney?! Of course Nina quickly accepted the opportunity to tag along. I rented a condo with 2 separate rooms (highly recommended with little ones btw) and we planned on going to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom… I think the adults are more excited than the kids!

We arrive to our destination and unpack. The condo was perfect. Full kitchen, a master bedroom (king bed), living room, 2 bathrooms, and the second bedroom had 2 twin beds and a crib… yay! It was a great home away from home. The girls went to bed pretty easily that night, they have no clue what’s in store for them in the morning.

No need for an alarm, the girls got us up around 630am. Which is my new normal. We all eat breakfast, and Nina gets her morning coffee. We pile into the car and head to the park. Abby immediately points to the signs of Mickey and Minnie as you enter the parking area. This is going to be great!

We get all checked in, cards in hand. We ride the monorail and tram and finally reach Magic Kingdom. Abby and Chloe are avid Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fans, so they know characters pretty well. As we enter the gates, Abby goes ballistic. Points her little finger to Cinderella’s Castle and yells “mommy! We found the castle! Mommy we found it! Cinderbrella lives there mommy! Mommy!” our hearts melted. This trip is going to be worth all the challenges we encounter (which I anticipate having a newly 1year old in tow). I’ve never spent so much time in Fantasy Land. This is the section of the theme park that houses all the characters and little people rides. It was time for our fast pass (get to skip most of the line) to meet Cinderella. So we wait a few minutes, Abby is clueless about what is about to happen. The girls have been fantastic so far btw. It’s finally our turn and you immediately see Cinderella in the corner waiting for us to take photos with her. Abby becomes a statue. Clearly, star struck. No emotion to her face, it was like she couldn’t believe that the character had come to life. It was adorable if you ask me. Abby patted her dress, starred at Cinderella and couldn’t even smile for the camera… she was in complete shock. Chloe just played on the floor… she clearly could care less lol.

As the day progressed, we were able to meet the majority of the staple characters. Poor Abby was glassy-eyed and trying to stay awake. I knelt down to her level and told her it was ok to take a little nap. Disney world would still be here when she woke up. I swear that girl was out as soon as that came out of my mouth. Nina sat with her while I took Chloe to the stage at the castle for a quick show (she napped already). We were watching the show and she would dance to the music. It was pretty cute. I bent down to grab her bottle of water and she was flipping out (in excitement) in my arms. I ask her what her deal is (like she could answer lol)… I look at the stage and there’s Pluto making his debut. This child LOVES dogs. So it made sense she got so excited.

We actually stayed until the fireworks show. Nina and I enjoyed it, the girls were sound asleep. This place is truly magical!
